I'm a freelance scientific and medical artist based in London, UK
I am fascinated by the complexity and fragility of the human body; I love learning about how it works and the processes involved in health and disease. I enjoy making the unseen visible and understandable.
As a scientist and artist, my work is research driven, scientifically accurate, visually appealing and creative. I initially trained in fine art, specialising in mixed media sculpture with a particular interest in the human body. I went on to study human nutrition to doctoral level, which provided training in biochemistry, physiology, medicine and research. After obtaining my PhD, I worked professionally for several years in clinical trials, alongside research subjects and medical and academic staff, giving me a working understanding of the medical world and insight into the needs of different audiences. I am currently studying medical art with the Medical Artists Education Trust.
